Joel is a sought-after drummer not bound by genre. In addition to being a current member of Royal Tusk and Whale and the Wolf, he has performed, toured and recorded with a long and diverse list of artists including; Laur Elle, Emily James, Rorey, Emma Rosen, Margø, Talltale, Violet Night, Colin Carbonera, Brett Hansen, Stephanie Urquhart Quartet, Ways In Waves and many more.

As a composer, Joel leads a contemporary-jazz outfit under his own name. He released his debut album Time & Place in November of 2024 and won the Western Canadian Music Award for ‘Instrumental Artist of the Year’ in 2025.
